Importance of Education: Why you should still be reading

“Once you stop learning you start dying.”

Albert Einstein said that.

Obviously, you don’t literally die if you don’t keep studying, but your ability will lessen, or at a minimum your ability doesn’t increase enough to keep up with others in your industry.

If you relied solely on direct mail for marketing 20 years ago and didn’t learn about the internet you lost a lot of opportunity.

Additionally, with the internet, the availability for large bodies of information is readily available to just about anyone. Anyone can learn just about anything now-a-days. Awesome.

I am always learning something new. Currently I am studying up more about social media influences in day to day living.

Here’s another quote:

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.
— Benjamin Franklin

Here’s some fun facts:
Bill Gates reads 50 books a year.
Mark Zuckerberg reads 2 a month.
Mark Cuban reads for more than 3 hours everyday
Warren Buffet spends 80% of his day reading.

The average American reads 5 books a year.
85% of self-made millionaires read more 24.
Many top CEOs read 4+ books a month.

Moral of the story: Read More. Learn More.

Where do you start? Good question.
What’s something you’d like to learn more about? Answer that and pick up a book on it – if it sucks, stash it and get another one.

Or, what’s something, that if you understood better, would help you make more money? Get a book on that.

A good source for things to learn (and for free) is your local public library.
